This course equips law enforcement supervisors and managers with everything they need to organize and manage a Field Training Program. You’ll learn not only strategies and policy considerations but also the practical take-a-ways and tools that you can begin using immediately. Whether you are looking for a way to overhaul your program and get all your FTOs on the same page or need to know the best practices for managing a Field Training Program, this is the course for you. Our instructors are highly experienced FTO Supervisors from the San Jose Police Department in California, the birthplace of the FTO concept.
This course includes:
- A behind-the-scenes look at what makes FTO programs successful or not.
- How to coordinate and manage a Field Training Program
- Selection and supervision of FTOs
- Training deficiencies and how to fix them
- Templates of Daily Observation Reports and Remedial Training Reports
Please have each student bring a laptop computer and a portable USB drive.
